Kim Hollman & Tim Morgan

Guest Story: Kim Hollman & Tim Morgan

Clintonville, Wis.

People are always smiling, friendly; it’s like another family.

Siblings Kim Hollman and Tim Morgan live on opposite ends of the country. But that didn’t matter when Tim was diagnosed with cancer. Tim came to Milwaukee from Clintonville, and Kim came up from Florida to serve as his caregiver for two weeks.

The impact Kathy’s House has had on their family is remarkable. “I wasn’t expecting to share the journey with so many other individuals, but I think that the sharing of the journeys is educational for us,” Kim says. “It’s also a way to be support of others by listening.”

For Tim’s part, he says, “It puts my two boys at ease that their dad is in good hands.” Visibly relieved, he continues “I am just so happy that my family is at ease, at home, that they don’t have to worry.”

They agree that reducing stress is a key benefit of their stay. “If this wasn’t here, the burden that it would put on family members and the patients well being would be very different,” Kim says. “It provides a resources that minimizes those stress levels.”
